There comes a day you have to decide it’s retirement time for those antiquated relics. Those shoved away in a room. Only to be reminded how poorly they are functioning when dragged out to perform their duties.

 

Dragged out the old carpet cleaner. It ran but no water reached the carpet brush or the furniture hose. Refused to have it repaired.

 

Lesson learned from doing that many years ago. Yes, he got it running… but at the shop were sewing and embroidery machines. I ended up walking out with half the price of a car. Cheaper now to just replace the beast. Continue reading

You’d think that an animal with the scientific name of “Felis catus”, might just have killer instincts.

 

Years ago, presented with an embarrassing statement of proclaiming… “No self-respecting mouse would dare enter my house with 5 cats.” A few days later, a mouse scurried across my living room floor.

Devastated that at least one of the five wasn’t in hot pursuit. Nope. They ignored the intruder. Cat dialogue; “He’s been here a while. Besides, he doesn’t eat much.”

 

My first cat was a fierce hunter. Taking down birds, mice, gophers, and even a pet rat that escaped. It was white, so I’m sure it once was a pet.

Ah kids, the carpet stains remain from the previous cat. We tried cleaning it and yet it still comes back.

 

So serious stuff now. I have read to clean with hot water first. Sure, just as you might pre-soak a stain before you throw it in the machine for laundering.

I dragged out the shampooer to proceed with the past due project. Only to find although it ran, no water came out. Hmm… dry shampooing is not what I had in mind. Tried the upholstery attachment, thinking maybe the water might divert to that and I can jump start the brushes at the bottom.
